Living a Great Life … With the Help of Money
I realize that money is important, but it should never be The Goal in Life. My mission is not to make as much money as possible, or to save one million dollars, or to travel around the world. Instead, my mission is to Enjoy Life and to encourage my family and those around me to do the same.
For me, enjoying life is as simple as spending time doing both mundane and amazing activities with the ones that I love. For example, I love watching movies, playing board games, and working out with my family. Staying at home and hanging out with my family is my idea of a perfect day.
On the other hand … I also enjoy doing activities that may cost a bit of money. The important thing is to make sure that these activities add the most amount of Life to my family for the smallest amount of Budget.
One thing that my family is really starting to enjoy is traveling, whether it is to locations across the country or within the state of Michigan, where we live. Since we enjoy traveling, it is important to me to find ways to travel for less and still get the same (or better) experiences than if I would have spent more money. Now that I have figured out ways to travel for cheap (or free), my family and I can have experiences that we may not have gotten to have in years past.
The bottom line is, I want to love the life that I am living before I think about my budget. However, I realize that money is finite, so I want to maximize the enjoyment and satisfaction that I get out of every dollar I spend.
